Kamp and Dijkhoff to open international cyber conference

The major international conference on cyber security, One Conference, will take place on 16 and 17 May 2017 at the World Forum in The Hague. This year's event is being organised by the National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC) of the Ministry of Security and Justice and the Ministry of Economic Affairs under the theme ‘We are all connected’. The One Conference 2017 will be opened by Minister of Economic Affairs, Henk Kamp, and State Secretary for Security and Justice, Klaas Dijkhoff, on Tuesday 16 May between 9.15 am and 9.30 am.

In a range of different sessions, some sixty national and international experts from business and industry, science and the cyber security sector will discuss a wide variety of topical issues such as the economic opportunities offered by digitalisation and the threats that we face in the field of cyber security. Topics on the agenda include future European cyber security strategy, cyber security in the healthcare sector (medical devices), the ethical aspects of cyber security, cyber crime, the Internet of Things (IoT) and (new) technical vulnerabilities.

In addition, the Potomac Institute for Policy Studies will present the ‘Cyber Readiness Index Netherlands’. The Institute has developed a method for measuring whether and to what extent a country is prepared for cyber risks.

Over the course of the two days, there will be talks from experts including Mikko Hypponen (F-Secure), Ciaran Martin (NCSC-UK), Herna Verhagen (PostNL), Michael Waksman (Jetico), Reuben Paul (CyberShaolin), Rob Bertholee (the Dutch General Intelligence and Security Service (AIVD)), Daniel Castro (ITIF), Marcel Veening (Divitel & Secure Software Alliance), Saket Modi (Lucideus Tech) and Joshua Corman (I am the Cavalry & Atlantic Council).
